Privacy policy

This policy covers the Christian Classics apps for iPhone, iPad and Android and the website ccbaudible.com. It says what we keep about you, why, and what you can do about it.

Without an account

You can browse and read free books without an account. The apps keep your reading progress, highlights and settings on your device only. The website keeps no record of who you are; our servers log requests (address, page, time) for security and are cleared regularly.

With an account

Accounts are run by Google Firebase Authentication. We keep your email address, your name and picture if your sign-in provider (Google or Apple) shares them, and how you signed in. So that your reading follows you between devices, we keep with your account: your library, wishlist, reading progress, highlights, notes, bookmarks, reading plans, rewards, and saved conversations with the AI reading companion. These are stored in Google Cloud Firestore and can be read only by you and by us in running the service.

Purchases and credits

Credits are bought on our website through Stripe, or in the app through Apple's App Store or Google Play; we never see your card or payment details. Stripe processes website payments under its own privacy policy and tells us the amount and which pack was bought. We keep each purchase's store transaction number, the credits added, your credit balance, and which books you bought, so that they are yours on every device and a purchase is not counted twice.

The AI reading companion

When you ask the AI companion a question, your question and the passage you are reading are sent to our server and on to OpenAI to write the answer. OpenAI does not use them to train its models. We keep a daily count of questions per account to keep the service fair.

What we don't do

We do not sell your information, show advertising, or track you across other apps and websites.

Your choices

You can delete your account in the app (Me › Profile › Delete account); this deletes everything kept with it. You can ask us for a copy of your information, or ask any question about this policy, at support@ccbaudible.com.

Children

The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly keep information about them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above, and tell you in the app for any significant change.
