About this book

Spurgeon wrote this for people who were not sure they were Christians and were afraid to ask. Twenty short chapters on justification, faith, repentance and assurance, in the plainest language he could find, because he meant it to be read by people with no education and no time.

About C. H. Spurgeon

Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892) became pastor of London's New Park Street Chapel at nineteen and preached to congregations of several thousand at the Metropolitan Tabernacle for most of his life. He founded a pastors' college and an orphanage, and his printed sermons ran to sixty-three volumes, the largest body of work by any Protestant author. Contemporaries called him the Prince of Preachers.
